reusable-footnotes — book example

1 Introduction

In an HTML Quarto book, each chapter is rendered as its own page. reusable-footnotes therefore treats each chapter page as an independent footnote scope.

José Afonso da Silva is cited here for the first time in this chapter.1

A second occurrence in the same chapter reuses the same local footnote.1

The Constitution is a distinct source and receives another footnote.2

The next chapter cites José Afonso da Silva again, but because it is a different rendered HTML page, the footnote is created again there.
