Page-local footnotes in a Quarto website

A Quarto website renders each .qmd file as its own HTML page. That makes the page boundary explicit: reusable footnotes are deduplicated within the current page, while the same bibliographic source may appear again in another page’s footnotes.

This page cites José Afonso da Silva once.1

The same source is cited again on this page, so the second call reuses the first local footnote.1

The Constitution is a different source and therefore receives its own footnote.2

Continue to the Doctrine page to see José Afonso da Silva appear again as a new page-local footnote.
